Kovai-il Kondattam
Hi friends, this is Navarasa Mani and I'm back with my new blog on my recent trip to Kovai or Coimbatore the Educational Hub of India.
For, people from other cities Coimbatore is famous for automobile industry, manufacturing of textile industry equipment's, spares, motor pump sets, wet grinders and varied engineering goods and services.
The development
of hydro electricity from the pykara falls in the 1930 led to a cotton boom in
kovai. Places to visit are Isha - Adiyogi, Maruthamalai Murugan temple, Brookefields mall( which I did during my visit).
Day1: Back to my trip updates, we reached coimbatore at afternoon listening to the songs played by the DJ (me) and few songs suggested by my parents.
Checked in to a four star hotel, according to my experience I would rate 3 or 2 star as we had only tv and swimming pool to entertain us. I had to over come a challenge, the hotel had summer swimming camp run by Decathlon and I had to wait till 6:00 pm to access the pool. And, alas the group left and worth awaiting the pool was bigger than both Chennai Regenta's and Novotel's pool ( the two five star hotels close to me in Chennai).
Day 2: The reason for our trip to Coimbatore was my favorite Santhosh anna's engagement. Anna work's with my dad and cause of him I understood that my appa was not only hero to me but also hero for many others.
He has even told me that appa was his inspiration and I realized how me and my family was given importance during the engagement.
It was a feast to all the eye's present there. Congrats to Santosh anna and karthika akka, as our prayers are there for this cute couple and they were looking like made for each other. Waiting for the D day, wedding celebration.
Palani anna, Sumathi akka and Silambu anna( My dad's cousins who live in coimbatore) were also invited. They were present for this celebration.
Post that I joined Palani anna and visited their house and gave a surprise to Tanvi - Chingu akka( their daughter). There we met ajji (Sumathi akka's mom). We all watched the movie "The Kid who would be the king".
Then Chingu akka prepared Hot chocolate for me. Then we awaited for Sai / Gattu / Padayapa anna(Silambu anna's son).
The story behind the pet name (Padayapa), the Rajinikanth movie Padayapa got released during my parents wedding, Sai was great fan of Rajinikanth and he wore one of the costume which came in the movie hence he got the name Padayapa.
We joined Silambu anna's and Gnanam aachi's wedding Anniversary dinner at Anandhaas (A popular restaurant). There we met Lakshmi ayya( Silambu anna's mother) and her grand daughter Niveda akka and her husband valliapan mama and his family.
We had a good dinner and Tasted the restaurants Spl. Elaneer halwa with kulfi Ice cream. It was yummy. I will strongly recommend Anandhaas Restaurant@ Vadavali and Aboorvas Restaurant @ Sai baba colony.
Thanks Vishnu uncle ( The owner of both Corner@58 and Gelato Ice creams), a very humble person for serving us excellent food for our tasty buds. .
Then we went to fun city in Brookefields mall and played bowling arcade. For the first four rounds I was leading then appa took over me. I was so sad at this so appa allowed me to do the zombie sho0oter VR game. I was totally crazy and calling all the zombies to attack me. Palani anna took a video of me going crazy. He shared with others and I was so embarrassed then took it sportively.
In the evening we had dinner at Palani anna's house. Enjoyed good time with their family. Anna gave us few goodies.
Day 4: We started to Chennai, on the way we stopped at TEXVALLEY - Wholesale textile market. It was worth spending sometime and purchased few bedspread, Door mats, crockeries. Good quality products available.
DJ Mani played our all time favorite Michael madhana kama rajan movie in amazon prime and listened it all the way to Chennai.
Andavar Kamal was on his peak in this movie. Never ending laughter was a main point making this classic movie hit all time. And, how can we forget the maestro Isaignani Ilayaraja and his songs in the movie.
