Kovai-il Kondattam

                                                Kovai-il Kondattam

Hi friends, this is Navarasa Mani and I'm back with my new blog on my recent trip to Kovai or Coimbatore the Educational Hub of India.

For, people from other cities Coimbatore is famous for automobile industry, manufacturing of textile industry equipment's, spares, motor pump sets, wet grinders and varied engineering goods and services.

The development of hydro electricity from the pykara falls in the 1930 led to a cotton boom in kovai.  Places to visit are Isha - Adiyogi,  Maruthamalai Murugan temple, Brookefields mall( which I did during my visit).

Day1: Back to my trip updates, we reached coimbatore at afternoon listening to the songs played by the DJ (me) and few songs suggested by my parents.

Checked in to a four star hotel, according to my experience I would rate 3 or 2 star as we had only tv and swimming pool to entertain us. I had to over come a challenge, the hotel had summer swimming camp run by Decathlon and I had to wait till 6:00 pm to access the pool. And, alas the group left and worth awaiting the pool was bigger than both Chennai Regenta's and Novotel's pool ( the two five star hotels close to me in Chennai).

Day 2: The reason for our trip to Coimbatore was my favorite Santhosh anna's engagement. Anna work's with my dad and cause of him I understood that my appa was not only hero to me but also hero for many others.

He has even told me that appa was his inspiration and I realized how me and my family was given importance during the engagement.

It was a feast to all the eye's present there. Congrats to Santosh anna and karthika akka, as our prayers are there for this cute couple and they were looking like made for each other. Waiting for the D day, wedding celebration.

Palani anna, Sumathi akka and Silambu anna( My dad's cousins who live in coimbatore) were also invited. They were present for this celebration.

Post that I joined Palani anna and visited their house and gave a surprise to Tanvi - Chingu akka( their daughter). There we met ajji (Sumathi akka's mom). We all watched the movie "The Kid who would be the king".

One of my favorite movies in English

Then Chingu akka prepared Hot chocolate for me. Then we awaited for Sai / Gattu /  Padayapa anna(Silambu anna's son).

The story behind the pet name (Padayapa), the Rajinikanth movie Padayapa got released during my parents wedding, Sai was great fan of Rajinikanth and he wore one of the costume which came in the movie hence he got the name Padayapa.

We joined Silambu anna's and Gnanam aachi's wedding Anniversary dinner at Anandhaas (A popular restaurant). There we met Lakshmi ayya( Silambu anna's mother) and her grand daughter Niveda akka and her husband valliapan mama and his family.

We had a good dinner and Tasted the restaurants Spl. Elaneer halwa with kulfi Ice cream. It was yummy. I will strongly recommend Anandhaas Restaurant@ Vadavali and Aboorvas Restaurant @ Sai baba colony.

Day 3: Next day me, appa and amma had fun time in the swimming pool. Appa challenged me if I swim once from one wall to another I get an Ice cream and if I return then I get to go to snow world or VR GAMES. And, I succeeded both the challenges.
We were all off to a Palani anna’s friend's  Corner@58 food joint. It was an amazing spot in Coimbatore, they are yet to launch but busy place, excellent food, beverages & Ice creams were too good. I see a great future for this food joint, it will become one of important landmark in future if they continue with same service. Quality food served and staff were very responsible.
Weather was too good, it was raining on and off, They served hot bhajji, Different types of Maggi, Sandwich, chat followed by hot coffee, Ice lemon tea, Rose tea and Red velvet shakes. Specially made for coffee lovers just like my family.

They also owned Italian - Gelato Ice creams, it was mind blowing. The fruit Ice cream contains real fruit without milk added. I tried the Vegan Stracciatella and Vegan Hazelnut.

                                                                     Gelato Ice cream shop

Thanks Vishnu uncle ( The owner of both Corner@58 and Gelato Ice creams), a very humble person for serving us excellent food for our tasty buds. .

Then we went to fun city in Brookefields mall and  played bowling arcade. For the first four rounds I was leading then appa took over me. I was so sad at this so appa allowed me to do the zombie sho0oter VR game. I was totally crazy and calling all the zombies to attack me. Palani anna took a video of me going crazy. He shared with others and I was so embarrassed then took it sportively.

In the evening we had dinner at  Palani anna's house. Enjoyed good time with their family. Anna gave us few goodies.

Day 4: We started to Chennai, on the way we stopped at TEXVALLEY - Wholesale textile market. It was worth spending sometime and purchased few bedspread, Door mats, crockeries. Good quality products available.

DJ Mani  played our all time favorite Michael madhana kama rajan movie in amazon prime and listened it all the way to Chennai.

Andavar Kamal was on his peak in this movie. Never ending laughter was a main point making this classic movie hit all time. And, how can we forget the maestro Isaignani Ilayaraja and his songs in the movie.

Michael madhana kama rajan- must watch movie
We reached Chennai safely.

My Summer Holiday Trip

                                                              My Summer Holiday Trip

Hi everyone, Vanakkam Vandhanam Namaskaram. I'm Navarasa mani here. And, I'm very sorry for not releasing new blogs as I was busy with my exams and many other causes kept me from writing blogs. And, after this long trip I thought of presenting a new blog. Just like Ruskin Bond It all started on Sunday the 24th of April in the evening me, my Appa and my Amma left for Devakottai. It was a never ending trip. Starting from 2k to 80's the songs were played thanks to Spotify and thanks to Alex in Wonderland show which we play always in a road trip. Alex in Wonderland is a musical or a stand up comedy show available in Prime video. Alexander Babu is one of my favorite stand up comedian. He has done multiple shows, series and movies. Shows like Yogi and the bear available in YouTube, series like Time Enna boss and movies like Maara a madhavan starrer. To know more about sir please visit: http://www.alexanderbabu.com/

Alexander Babu
Now, lets come back to our trip. 25th April was an amazing and an important auspicious day as we were conducting the divine marriage (thiru kalyanam) for lord Vishnu in "Thenn Tirupati" or "Ariakudi" our native deity(Kula deivam). So, we started at evening and reached Karaikudi. We knew a motel named "The Brindhavan Residency" with amazing room services and quality food. The motel had a major distance from the temple. we all went in tiredness and dozed off when we reached the room. The next morning we woke up and got ready and received my ayya and aaya. We reached the temple at 9. The temple had a decent crowd, It took 3hrs to complete the function. We were all clad in our traditional attire. The priest said that my parents were considered as the parents of "alarmelu mangai" the goddess and had to get her married to lord Vishnu. And, the best part was the exchanging of garlands with "malai matrinal" song.
God and Goddess
Then for the next 2 days we were at Devakottai. Thanks to my aaya she made all my favorite dishes like paniyaram and many other finger licking dishes and thanks to ayya for keeping me occupied with books and writing. Then we decided to travel to kodaikanal as it was close to our native. It was a enjoyable trip and we had coconut water in the middle of the trip and then started the bends of the mountain. It was a breath taking one. There in the resort we unexpectedly met Nelson dilipkumar the director of Beast and the hero of lift movie Kavin. They were above our room. It was an amazing Experience at the GRT hotels and resorts- the great trails. We enjoyed at the resort. My parents left me on my own. It is one advantage in resorts were you can be on your own and your parents have no worries about you. They have amazing activities like Horse riding, adventure gear and many competitions were amazing. Food was decent. Then the night  bonfires and the magic show. Some what the magician looked and sounded like Alex(who I mentioned before) to me. We also went for the boating house . There we went for the six people row boat with another family and I went alone riding single cycle pedal boat and succeeded in riding for 20 mins.
6 people row boat

Single pedal cycle

Then we went to the silver falls and saw many monkeys and the majestic falls .

And, in one murugan temple Appa was stopped cause he was wearing shorts. I think Lord muruga got sad or had a masterplan I don't know. But, he made us change our plan and come to Palani instead of going to Madurai. There we met my dad's friend swami Senthil uncle and stayed there for a day in his house. The next day he took us for a special darshan and another specialty was it was kiruthikai and we got panjamirdam.
Senthil uncle and our family in Palani

I was amazed to know that uncle would cover up all the 670 steps in just 7 mins. Then we left for Chennai. For afternoon we stopped at aswins. then we reached at evening.
This is all of my trip
Sorry for the late blog and hope you enjoyed my blog. Pls share and comment on my blogs and stay connected

                                                                                                                                        Navarasa mani

Merry Christmas and a happy birthday amma

merry Christmas  and a happy birthday amma

merry Christmas  to all
Today I am going to share few facts about Christmas and I will tell what I have done on my mom's birthday.
When we say Christmas we remember gifts and when we remember gifts we remember Santa. When we ask who Santa is?? some say he is Saint Nicholas, or Father Christmas nor Saint Nick and more. But, we are going to discuss about Saint Nicholas. Who is Saint Nicholas??
St. Nicholas was a Bishop who lived in the fourth century, in a place called Myra in Asia Minor (now called Turkey). He was a very rich man because his parents died when he was young and left lot of money.
He spread the Rhythm of giving gifts to everyone on Christmas. Then, people started celebrating Saint Nicholas day on 6/12 every year.

Now I will Narrate how I celebrated my mom's birthday. At the outset I wished her and presented  a customized Mug and a customized calendar.

One of my dad's colleague Santhosh uncle also celebrating his birthday on 25th Dec. Both our families went to Novotel for lunch. It was an enjoyable afternoon as there was tattoo stand, Caricature stand, and bracelet stand. Uncle at the counter over there drew a caricature of me and amma, I even made a bracelet for amma as gift. I put on amma tattoo which is given above and uncle put on Santa tattoo. After, we all said goodbye and departed. When we reached home ,I left to play and Appa and amma left to my grandpa's house to take his blessings.
Will await to give u another refreshing blog with more information. Until then this is me Navarasa Mani Signing off. 👋👋

It lies in the Shevaroy Hills, known for their orange groves, and coffee, fruits and spice plantations. Yercaud Lake has a boat house, and is surrounded by gardens and woods. Now let me share my memories of the trip, My parents have booked an amazing place to stay " The story Resorts & Spa ". Staff were very friendly, excellent architecture. I got a new friend and he was so sweet, pls find pic attached.

And, then we went to my grandpa's friends estate in Yercaud, We thoroughly enjoyed the day . we even went around the town and the people we met were amazing. Weather was excellent, it was cold there.

                                            HAPPY KRISHNA JAYANTI

to all my friends and family.

Thank you for all you support on my first Blog about “ MY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES”.

Here comes my next blog on “ Krishna Jayanthi”, happy to share my memories about this occasion.

I hope all Krishna’s & Radha’s in you will enjoy this experience. Post reading this blog you might think of your childhood memories.

I always felt me and Krishna have a some great bonding. Before I was born my mom use to visit Krishna temple regularly in our native.

Post which she got married and I was born so she feels Mani is little Krishna in our family. Naughty Kid at home.

I got in to the habit of reading books when I was small and my first comic book was about Krishna and his life stories.

I received a small Krishna photo from one of my Grand pa’s friend. I still have that in my room.

During these festivals our parents will dress us like Krishna and Radha, I have also gone thru this shoot in my childhood.

Pls find the picture above when I was dressed up like Krishna and visited Euro kids school. There were lot of Radha’s in school on that day.

In my every day routine I go to play in the evening from 6 till 8 pm. Luckily I did not go to play on 30th Aug 2021.

Dad came early from office and asked me to get ready for dinner at one of his colleagues house.

Thanks Kaushik uncle, Dimpi aunty for inviting us for dinner. Delicious food and Prasad for Krishna Jayanthi.

Post dinner I realized Krishna decided not to send me to park in the evening because of his birthday celebrations at Kaushik uncle’s house.

I hope you all will enjoy my experience on India festivals. Please share your feedback which help me to improve my writing skills.

My childhood memories

                                       My childhood memories

Growing up, I had a very loving family. In Bangalore, my dad worked in HSBC while I went Euro kids as Euro junior. I miss all those days, its just like yesterday. I did not have that much experience with my dad.  He used to go to work when I go to my school and comes back when was already asleep. So, my mom shows all kindness which my dad didn’t. But she was not all, my friends played a vital role in my life. Only, one of them were my age and one above and all others were below my age. We used to play cricket ,frisbee ,catch me if u can , etc.

My grandpa was my favorite of all time. Even now I go to my home town my grandpa would read me stories before going to sleep.
One thing which I never argue with my dad is travelling. I have travelled to goa from Bangalore in the age of 8. And went to Malaysia  ,Singapore ,Penang ,Langkawi. I was always interested in story books and movies. My all time favourite book and movie is karnan.

When I was small, I dreamed of being Vijay. Then I understood it was not for me. Then I inspired Abdul Kalam wrote one of his life stories and got first prize in my school. When I talk about Kalam people think I want to become a scientist. But I inspired him for the way a small south Indian from Rameswaram became the president of India. I want to become a big VJ or RJ, as I went for training to a RJ come VJ(Toshila mam).People say “TIME FLIES” I didn’t believe it but now I got graduated from Euro Senior to an 8th standard boy.

MY GRADUATION PIC

Thanks for reading my blog as we have come to the end, and I just exited my childhood to adolescence age.

Kovai-il Kondattam
